VoiceViewer® Software

Which handset and how does it work?
The VoiceViewer Software is compatible with a broad range of Mobile Operating Systems. Originally introduced for Windows Mobile Platform, solutions for Android, Blackberry and iPhone are in development.

Is speech recognition very accurate?
VoiceViewer Technologies utilizes many steps to increase accuracy. We train each user’s voice into the system and allow the user to adapt any missed words and add them back into the system. All of our customers experience virtually 100% accuracy. In addition, the ability to play back each recorded response allows for fast correction of any misspoken word.

Operations and Applications

What type of applications does the system support?
The VoiceViewer System supports any application in which individuals must collect data and then enter the information into a database or data collection application.

What steps must be taken to set up the handset, collect data, and complete forms??
Create Script: We utilize each customer’s existing patient information forms to create a script and a sequence of questions and load them into the VoiceViewer handset.
Collect Data: Users enter patient data at the point of care by speaking into the VoiceViewer handset or using the touchpad. Answers can be replayed and changed or edited at any time during or after data collection.
Complete Forms: Forms are completed electronically and can be printed out or sent directly to a customer’s database.

Can the user simply talk or is the data collection process scripted?
VoiceViewer Technologies utilizes two types of input: Structured Speech and Free Speech. In structured speech, the type of response that will be given to each question is known, and only the identified range of possible choices will be recognized. This is a speaker-independent system — anyone can use the handset and complete a form. Free Speech is similar to dictation and is user-dependent. Users “train” the handset with their voices, and the system compares spoken words to previously saved words. Training the handset is very easy and usually takes approximately 10 minutes of talk time.

What form of customer training is provided?
We recommend that the initial customers attend a 1-2 hour on-site instruction session conducted by VoiceViewer. One of our program integration specialists will instruct the identified participants how to use their application with the VoiceViewer handset. Estimated time for this initial training is approximately 30-60 minutes.

Additionally, the program specialist will demonstrate to the participants how to download the handset responses from the VoiceViewer handset to the PC, then review their voice inputs for accuracy and what to do if corrections are necessary. The estimated time for this training is approximately 30-60 minutes.

What if I have questions after the customer training is completed?
Call VoiceViewer’s customer service department toll-free, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at 877-232-0144. Or e-mail us at support@voiceviewer.com.
